Heronview Alpacas

Alpacas raised in a Nurturing Holistic enviroment

Welcome to Heronview Alpacas

Great news for Heronview.  The Alpaca Ontario Show was April 18 and 19th.   We were unable to attend this year. I was very sad because I really wanted to show off my last years babies and see how Myster Luv and of course Tyson would do.

I had sent in some of the fleeces for The spin off compitition .  I sent in 5 samples and we got 4 2nd place ribbons. So even though I was unable to go I think we were well represented.

Myster Luv who is 9 years old got a 2nd place ribbon. I was so thrilled !! I was told his fleece was wonderful and he was only .5 behind first place

Heronviews Bold Music our black boy got a second

Heronviews Tyson  recieved a 2nd and was .5 behind firsteronviews Holly our brown girl also recieved a 2nd

Alicia was out of the ribbons and I understood why. It was a tough white class and she scored really high in everything except she did have some hay in her fleece. That knocked her score down. So this is a tougher judging then even with a live judge. They allow for some VM.

I think our program is working our animals are always in the ribbons. This was a nice win because the judges are the people who work with the fleece in the end. The spinners

I will post pictures of the alpacas with their ribbons

Welcome to Heronview Alpacas.  We are located in beautiful Brooklin, Ontario.  Brooklin is 40 minutes from Downtown Toronto.  We enjoy the closeness of the city,  with the beauty of the peaceful countryside.    Heronview Alpacas goal is to raise Healthy, well bred Alpacas with exceptional fleece characteristics. We raise our Alpacas as holisticly as possible. We want our Alpacas to have solid conformation and nice temperments.

Several years ago we saw some Alpacas at the Royal Winter fair. Since that time we have wanted to have some for ourself.

The timing just never seemed right.   A few years ago after we saw how much our property taxes were going up we knew it was time to raise something that was considered livestock to change our property to farm status.  I knew it had to be something that was not going to need to be killed to be a viable product.  Alpacas fit the bill perfectly.  They are raised for their fleece as well as the breeding stock. The growth potential for Alpacas in Ontario is only at the beginning. Alpacas are an excellent investment  They are very easy to look after and do not require much in the way of food .  They are not hard on pasture and are so sweet and fun to be around.  Please have a look through our website and learn how wonderful these creatures are.  We would love  to have you come for a visit afterall we like to show them off too. It has been 4 years now and we have not looked back or regretted our choice.

Don't forget to visit our farm store. Click on the link to the gifted Alpaca, better yet come to the store and get lost in the softness of Alpaca!
